The 2020 race season kicked off this weekend at The Pit fitness ranch in Three Rivers, MI.
“3 Beards and Jeff” was a relay of dudes out to have a good time.
We finished 18th out 18 expert teams with fingers and toes intact.

The Circus Rides Iceman 2019
Damp Northern Michigan weather on the days leading up to the 30th edition of Bell’s Brewery made the 2019 Edition of the race a story of grit and grind.
Not a tale of resilience and perseverance, but one of the grinding sound the bikes made as they popped and ghost shifted up every incline of the trail between Kalkaska and Traverse City.

2019 Xterra Race Report – Not a Great Day
I was overdue for some bad racing luck.
- Tweaked my shoulder race week
- Downpour on race day
- Mechanical that forced me to hike, push and scoot my bike for 3 miles.
- I lost my Fitbit in Eagle Lake
I was happy with my swim, my run and embraced the humbling experience of hiking in the rain.
I finished 7th (out of 7) in my age group and snagged some 2020 XTERRA series points.
Ice Man is next.

My Office in the Woods…
Ok, so maybe I wasn’t actually “in the woods,” but I was pretty close for a week. As a digital marketer here at WSI, I get the opportunity to work virtually from just about anywhere that I can find a WiFi and cell signal. Since I travel with a hotspot for WiFi and my phone seems to do a pretty good job of hanging on to calls, that makes my office options pretty limitless.
